Tipping
Service is included at restaurants and cafes. The general rule is to round up to the nearest euro. Taxi drivers expect a tip of about 10 percent of the fare.

Shopping

  • St-Ouen Market, between the Porte de St-Ouen and the Porte de Clignancourte. Métro stop: Port-de-Clignancourte. Open Sat-Mon 9 am-6:30 pm.

Helpful Hints

  • Currency — France uses the euro. One hundred cents equals one euro. ATMs are plentiful and usually offer the best exchange rate. If you want euros in your pocket before you go, speak to your AAA travel agent or visit Travelex.
  • Time Change — France is on Central European Time, seven hours ahead of Central Time.
  • Travel Documents — U.S. travelers to France need a valid passport. Visit the Department of State website for information and downloadable forms, or stop in a AAA Texas office.
